April 2022 Edition: Things to do in Salt Lake City, Utah to celebrate Spring!

Here’s a little peek into some fun things to do in Salt Lake in April 2022!

Spring is officially here bringing all of the flowers, the opening day of baseball, and warmer weather! This is arguably my favorite season. I love all of the bright, colorful flowers, the start of festivals, and better hiking weather! Here are some of the things happening this month!:

(make sure you read to the end to see a few of the things I’ve been loving lately!)

Local Events

I love walking through all of the gardens this time of year! All of the bulbs planted in the fall are making their debut creating stunning landscapes to explore. The Tulip Festival at Ashton Gardens is a tradition for us, and this year I also found out about Bulbs and Blooms at Red Butte Garden! Both would be absolutely perfect to see the gorgeous spring flowers.

Looking for local things to do this summer? Check out my Ultimate Salt Lake City Bucket List! Researching things to do can be so time consuming, so I decided to compile a list of 100+ things to do in the SLC Valley and surrounding area for the whole family! You can read more about the guide HERE. Want access to the guide? Click the button below!

Other things to do this month:

Salt Lake Bees games started April 5th with their first home game April 16th! Check out their full schedule HERE.

Want to attend an outdoor concert this summer? Red Butte Garden recently released their full schedule and USANA has quite the line up this year!

Recipes

This is a salad I’ve loved since I was little and it’s perfect for this time of year! Only needing 6 ingredients, this salad is quick and easy to throw together as a side for your spring dinner or add some protein to eat it for a quick lunch!

Date Nights

I decided to add a date night segment to this post to highlight some of the things we do locally and to hopefully give you some fun ideas of things to do with your significant other!

We celebrated our 9th anniversary this month by continuing on the tradition of going to Olive Garden for dinner! We haven’t done this every year, but since we’re home for our anniversary this year we decided to go back to where we would spend our anniversary in high school!

To celebrate our anniversary in a more extravagant way, we decided to take a spontaneous trip to Washington state with our time off from work. I’ll share more about this trip in a later blog post, but in the meantime you can read all about our last trip to Seattle HERE!

Last but not least, we’re making better use of our Salt Lake Connect Passes this month. I bought these for us for Christmas in 2019 with no clue what was to come in 2020. They graciously extended the passes for us and we’re finally getting to use them! I’ve thought about dedicating a blog post entirely to the Connect Pass… If that’s something you’re interested in, leave me a comment below!

Things I've Been Loving

I heard about Slidebox through Janssen from Everyday Reading and am so grateful to have this app in my life! Basically, Slidebox accesses your phone's gallery and allows you to organize your photos painlessly with 1-2 swipes per photo! With how many photos and screenshots I take this has been so helpful in organizing everything and getting rid of photos I no longer need. Check out Slidebox for yourself HERE! (Apple and Android compatible)

I tried the liquid lip version of this at Jessica Braun’s recommendation and absolutely love it! When I saw the solid version at Target one day I was instantly intrigued. I’ve used this several times since, but after one wear (with a mask) I was sold! It surprisingly held on while wearing a mask and eating! I highly recommend the entire Maybelline SuperStay line! Purchase from Target HERE! I got the color Break the Ceiling.

When we got a new car last fall we vowed to keep it cleaner than the last. Insert this garbage can from Amazon! After keeping a grocery sack on the gearshift didn’t work for us, we knew we wanted something that hung on the headrest of one of our seats to keep it accessible while still out of the way. This one sits snugly against the back of the seat thanks to the adjustable strap and comes in 3 different sizes depending on how big of a garbage can you’re looking for! Check it out HERE!

While I’m not planning on having kids anytime soon, I absolutely love Joy Michelle’s new podcast Called to Both. I’ve found the things she talks about so helpful when trying to balance running my business, working full-time, and supporting my friends and family! I highly recommend checking out her podcast whether you’re a parent or not. Listen to it on your preferred podcast platform HERE!
